Alternative Radiopharmaceuticals for Medical Imaging

The primary objective of this joint CIHR-NSERC funding opportunity was to accelerate the development of clinically useful alternatives to the radiopharmaceuticals that are currently produced from nuclear reactors. This rapid response program was launched in response to the emergency closure of the National Research Universal (NRU) reactor at Chalk River and was intended to provide short-term impetus to speed the development of alternative radiopharmaceuticals. This was a one-time funding opportunity with awards in October 2009. More information

International Research Initiative on Adaptation to Climate Change

NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) support research and networking on the adaptation to climate change in Canada and low-income countries and middle-income countries. This was a one-time funding opportunity with a deadline of January 2010. More information
