National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) 2009 was a tremendous success. Over 200 organizations celebrated Canadian science and technology in a diverse variety of ways.
We would like to thank all of these organizations and those who attended, or participated online, in events across Canada. Together we made this the best NSTW yet, with almost three times more participating organizations than last year!
Although NSTW 2009 has officially ended, there are still some events taking place in the coming weeks.

Every year, national Science and Technology Week provides an exciting environment where people of all ages, in particular children and young adults, may engage in science and technology and interact with science professionals.
NSTW 2009 was co-hosted by Natural Resources Canada and the Canadian Space Agency. We were honoured to have one of our Canadian astronauts, Dr. Robert Thirsk, as the National Science Champion. Dr. Thirsk promoted NSTW from space with activities allowing Canadian students the opportunity to connect with scientists whose experiments he was performing.

The participation of our partners enhances our efforts to create diverse opportunities for Canadians to learn and for youth to be inspired to consider science as a career choice. If your organization would like to participate in NSTW 2010, you may consider offering hands-on demonstrations, tours of your labs, open houses, school visits or any other activity you may choose to celebrate science and technology in Canada.
