2026 Celebrating the Success of Women in STEM Symposium: Breaking Barriers, Building our Future (TRN4-E48)

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is a call to celebrate the achievements of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and empower the next generation to pursue careers in science. It also fosters essential dialogues on equity, innovation and the transformative power of diverse perspectives for the future of STEM.

This event will highlight the pivotal role of women in transforming research into innovation by exploring ways to advance equity, leadership and sustainable progress across STEM sectors. It will also champion progress, enable knowledge sharing and help shape the world of tomorrow.

Through engaging presentations, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, participants will explore innovative ways to break down barriers, build bridges, and create a more equitable and inclusive future for Canada and beyond.

Event highlights:

  • Learn from trailblazing leaders who are shaping the future of innovation through inclusivity and forward-thinking approaches.
  • Acquire new skills in leadership, public engagement and community-building across STEM fields.
  • Engage with peers and mentors to build supportive networks, foster collaboration, and explore strategies for navigating and thriving in STEM careers.

This free event is hosted by the National Research Council of Canada and the Office of the Chief Science Advisor of Canada, in partnership with the Canada School of Public Service.
