Implementing the Tri-agency grants management solution

Over the last few years, the TGMS team has consulted the research community and agency staff to identify their needs, common tasks, and pain points in our current grants management systems. This information gathered will form the basis for the implementation of TGMS.

TGMS will replace existing grants management systems for the agencies, including the Canadian Common CV (CCV), as outlined by the granting council Presidents.

Codesign

The grants management solution will continue to be designed with users to ensure it delivers value to the research community using the same guiding principles established in the Discovery phase of the project. Through the codesign process, the three agencies and the research community will provide feedback on TGMS and participate in testing activities. This will ensure that the solution aligns with user needs and expectations as closely as possible.

Funding opportunity onboarding

Funding opportunities will gradually be selected and prioritized for transition from their current systems to the new solution. Services, such as those to manage user profiles, create CVs or enable the submission of funding applications, will be added in TGMS over time. Funding opportunities will be ready to be delivered via TGMS once the necessary supporting services are in place. This transition will be accompanied by user training and dedicated technical support to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
